September 24 Tuesday

Arrival in Yerevan International airport “Zvartnots”. Transfer to the hotel. Free afternoon Evening ”Welcome” dinner with cocktail.

September 25 Wednesday

Yerevan – tour «Ararat» Brandy factory – Garni – Geghard – Yerevan. The tour starts at 10:00. Duration: 7 hours.
After breakfast at 10:00 excursion to Ararat Brandy factory with tasting of 2 types of cognac. Then trip to Garni and Geghard. On the way, stop at the “Arch of Charents”, where you can get a splendid view of the Biblical Ararat valley. Trip to the cave monastery Geghard (5-13cc.), the tomb of the princes Proshyan. The monastery consists of a large overhead temple and three churches hewn in solid rock. There are hundreds of natural and artificial caves in the vicinity. The Holy Spear that had pierced Christ’s body on the cross has been kept in the church. Now the Holy Spear (Geghard – Spear) is being kept in Echmiadzin Museum. The trip continues to the pagan temple of Hellenistic type, Garni (77 AD), tour of “Temple of the Sun” and the ancient royal bath, the only Hellenistic temple preserved up to now in the region. The temple is located on the edge of the scenic gorge. Lunch in the village of Garni with the master class baking the national bread – lavash. Return to Yerevan. Overnight and dinner in Yerevan.




September 26 Thursday

City tour 10:00AM: Cascade ,Matenadaran, Opera House, Republic Square, Vernisage, Tsitsernakaberd. Duration: 5 hours.
We start at Matenadaran, then proceed to the Cascade from where we walk to the famous places of Yerevan: the Opera House, Hysisain Avenue, Republic Square. After lunch we stop at the famous Vernissage – a market of handmade craftsmen, where you can buy art works, objects of applied art – souvenirs, ornaments, handmade carpets, paintings with Armenian landscapes, national musical instruments, dolls, wood, stone, clay, ceramics, silverware and other materials. Our final stop on this tour is the museum – memorial of the Armenian Genocide in 1915 “Tsitsernakaberd Lunch and dinner in Yerevan. Afternoon and evening free.

September 27 Friday

Yerevan- KhorVirap-Noravank–Areni- Yerevan. The tour starts at 09:00. Duration: 8 hours.
After breakfast we join our touring bus to Ararat valley. Tour includes Khor Virap monastery (XVII), the translation from Armenian is “deep hole”. It was here that the future first Catholicos of the Armenian Apostolic Church, St. Gregory the Illuminator, spend many years. The monastery is located in front of the Biblical Mount Ararat (5165m.). From the walls of the monastery you can see panoramic views of the majestic mountain. Later, we visit Areni – a picturesque village situated on the banks of the river Arpa. At the entrance to the village, near the road, there is a private winery “Areni”. We will visit it so that you can observe the wine production process and for wine tasting. Lunch in winery restaurant. Our our journey continues through the picturesque mountains and canyons toward Noravank Monastery (XII-XV centuries.). In the territory of the monastery many khachkars (cross-stones) survived. Among them you can see khachkars from 1308 many made by Momik, the chief architect of the monastery, as also the khachkar created in his memory. Return to Yerevan for dinner and overnight.

Yerevan to Tbilisi vi Lake Sevan – Monastery on the peninsula – Resort Dilijan – Haghpat – Tbilisi. The tour starts at 08:00. Duration: 10 – 12 hours.
After breakfast check out, meet your guide in the hotel lobby, Our first stop is a trip to Lake Sevan. The road from Yerevan to Tbilisi leads through Lake Sevan. Lake Sevan is the “Blue Pearl” of Armenia. It is the largest lake in the Caucasus and one of the largest freshwater lakes in the mountain world. Its area – 1400 square meters. km and is located at an altitude of 1900 m above sea level. 28 large and small rivers flow into Lake Sevan, but only one river flows out – the river Hrazdan. We will visit Sevan Monastery built on the peninsula 874 years ago. Only a few minutes from the edge of Lake Sevan, you will find yourself in the thick forests of Dilijan. Dilijan attracts people with its unique nature and mild climate. It is known as a resort town, located in the western part of the river Akhstev. Lunch in Dilijan in one of the local restaurants. Our last stop in that area is the monastery of Haghpat. Upon arrival in Tbilisi, overnight and dinner at hotel.

Tbilisi City tour: Duration 5 hrs Narikala Fortress and the Cathedral of the Hotel Trinity – Mtatsminda – Vinotecca
After breakfast you will see the main attractions of the city: the Old Tbilisi, with its amazing mixture of different cultures and religions. Maidan –the main square of the old town and sulfur baths – the main reason why Tbilisi was built; Holy Trinity Cathedral – the biggest Church in Georgia and the biggest religious building in southern Caucasus. The fortress Narikala, Metekhi plateau, synagogue, mosque, Grigoryanski Church, the Peace glass Bridge, Old city wall, the Rustaveli Avenue, and the Liberty Square, Lunch in Old Tbilisi. We continue with Metekhi Church; unique Sulphur Baths. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.

Half Day tour to the city of Mtsheta Duration: 3-4 hours
Today we visit Mtskheta the ancient capital of Georgia to see Svetitskoveli (IV c. AD) and Jvari (VI c.) monasteries. Lunch in Mtsheta. We return to Tbilisi. Afternoon free. Dinner and a guided night tour of Tbilisi tonight.

Upliscikhe- Kutaisi – Batumi 560 kilometers (8-10 hrs)
After an early breakfast at hotel. We proceed on a very picturesque route to Batumi – crossing the continental divide of the Caucasus. Enroute we visit Upliscikhe the hewn in the cliff town, before driving to Kutaisi. Lunch in Kutaisi. Drive over Rikoti Pass to the ancient city and former capital of West Georgia – Kutaisi. Visit two UNESCO World heritage sights: Monastery complex and Academy of Gelati 12th c and Bagrati Cathedral from 11th c. Observe archaeological excavations and ruins near the sight. After our city t our of Kutaisi, we drive to Batum for dinner and oovernight in hotel.

Batumi – Free Day Optional city tour ( $25 pp)
Breakfast at the hotel. Tour includes: Gonio fortress, the Roman fortification in Adjara, 15 km south of Batumi. The village sits 4 km north of the Turkish border. In the 2nd century AD it was a well-fortified Roman city within Colchis. The town was also known for its theatre and hippodrome. It later came under Byzantine influence. The name “Gonio” is first attested in Michael Panaretos in the 14th century. The grave of Saint Matthias, one of the twelve apostles, is believed to be inside the Gonio fortress. Guided tour along the city: 6 May Park, Freedom Square, Ilia Chavchavadze Drama Theater, Orthodox Church of St. Nicolas, the Synagogue, and Catholic Church.
