Dr. Helbig is Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Pittsburgh. She holds a Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology from Columbia University (2005),where she has also taught in the Ukrainian Studies Program. Her articles on Romani (Gypsy) music, post-socialist cultural policy and global hip-hop have appeared in edited collections and journals. Dr. Helbig conducts research among Gypsy and African musicians in Ukraine. She has guided tours to Ukraine since 1995. |

FLIGHTS: Listed flights are with Lufthansa German Airlines from Newark to Kyiv via Frankfurt. Return from Odesa via Kyiv/Frankfurt to Newark.
INTER CITY TRANSPORTATION: Kyiv/Odesa by MS Dnipro Princess Cruise. Odesa/ L’viv by plane. L’viv/ Yaremche/Kamianets Podilsky/L’viv by deluxe AC coach. Transfers are provided only for persons using group trans-Atlantic flights.
CRUISE SHIP: MS Dnipro Princess
SIGHTSEEING: As per itinerary. Off-shore optional excursions are not included in tour price. All sightseeing/entrance fees are included on land tour portion.
ESCORT: Fully escorted from NEWARK throughout the entire itinerary by Dr. A. Helbig. A professional, English-Ukrainian speaking tour manager will assist upon arrival in Kyiv and throughout cruise. Local bi-lingual guides will be provided at each destination.
MEALS: As indicated on itinerary. Full board on cruise.
SIDE TRIPS: If you wish to visit surrounding areas of any of the port cities, to search for roots or additional sightseeing, this may be arranged at additional cost. Advance confirmation is recommended. Chauffeured cars are available for about $150-$200 per day and a guide-interpreter is about $10 an hour. No refund will be forthcoming for unused group services.

If you have more than one piece of checked baggage, a surcharge of $50 will be collected at airport by agency representative for porterage. |
