KYIV
- TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHTS TO KYIV Most major carriers service Kyiv via their respective hubs in Europe. The only NON-STOP is AEROSVIT Ukrainian Airlines. Round trip airfares vary with seasonality and promotions. Promotional low fares to Kyiv appear with regularity for immediate purchase and have restrictions.
INTRA-EUROPEAN FLIGHTS TO KYIV All major European airlines have daily flights to Kyiv (i.e. Lufthansa from Frankfurt, KLM from Amsterdam, Air France from Paris). Ukraine International Airlines is the ethnic carrier with more attractive round trip and one way fares rates than the western carriers between all European capitals and Kyiv.
LVIV
- TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHTS TO LVIV LVIV Lviv is the only Western Ukrainian city with an international airport. Only THREE carriers have landing rights there: LOT Polish provides round trip connections from Chicago and New York via Warsaw. Ukraine International provides round trip connections via Frankfurt twice a week, which connects trans Atlantically on Lufthansa, Northwest, Continental, Delta, United, and US Air, and Austrian Airlines via Vienna.

INTRA-EUROPEAN FLIGHTS TO LVIV Enter Lviv through Warsaw on a daily basis, through Frankfurt twice weekly (Tue & Fri); and through Vienna three/four times a week.

- TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHTS TO ODESA
AEROSVIT Ukrainian Airlines via Kyiv.

INTRA-EUROPEAN FLIGHTS TO DNIPROPETROVSK Austrian Airlines/Tyrolean Air or Ukraine International service Dnipropetrovsk from Vienna on a daily basis.
SIMFEROPIL (CRIMEA)
- TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHTS TO SIMFEROPIL Simferopol is accessible most directly from Kyiv with perfect connections on Aerosvit Ukrainian Airlines which correspond to their trans-Atlantic flights
INTRA-EUROPEAN FLIGHTS TO SIMFEROPIL During summer season only - Ukraine International has connection from Frankfurt once a week. Westbound an overnight is mandatory. Austrian Airline has connections via Vienna to Kharkiv several times week. Westbound flights operate 2-3 times a week with mandatory overnight in Vienna which is absorbed by the airline.

Domestic Flights Within Ukraine
Ukraine domestic flights are more reliable now than a few years ago. In most cases service is daily, but always subject to change. Scope Travel will arrange domestic flights in conjunction with transatlantic tickets ONLY, or in conjunction with total individual land package. Reservations are made and prepaid through SCOPE. Tickets are issued in exchange for Scope vouchers in our representative offices in KYIV, LVIV or ODESA.
The following cities are accessible by air from KYIV: Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Uzhorod, Odesa, Simferopil, Mauriopil, Donetsk, Zaporizzha, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Luhansk.
Approximate one way airfare is $65 year round.
LVIV services. The following cities are accessible by air from LVIV: Kyiv (year round flights), Simferopil (summer only)
All other cities listed above may be reached via Kyiv only.

GUARANTEED CHAUFFEURED SERVICES
Scope Travel recommends that travelers take advantage of our CHAUFFEURED car services, available in all major cities. There is
no liability for you. Your driver is responsible for NOT leaving the car unattended, day and night, knows where to purchase
gas, where to park, is a trained auto mechanic (there is no AAA in Ukraine) and if need be, will even sleep in the car to
safeguard it.
SELF-DRIVE RENTALS
Due to high theft rate, self drive car rentals have been temporarily discontinued in Ukraine by all major car rental companies.

Rail Tickets
Scope Travel Inc. will provide you with travel tickets/exchange vouchers (for travel WITHIN UKRAINE or
FROM UKRAINE to any neighboring country) ONLY in conjunction with a full itinerary. You will be issued
service VOUCHERS which must be exchanged for the actual train tickets in KYIV, LVIV or ODESA only. Hence, your
starting point for any train travel must be KYIV, LVIV or ODESA. Train travel is relatively inexpensive in
Ukraine, however please be prepared for almost "third world" facilities in most cases.
A non-refundable handling/service fee of $50 + $25 reservation fee applies.

OTHER SERVICES
GUIDES are readily available in major cities. English and German are the main foreign languages
spoken by guides. Guides can be hired by the hour (@$15), by the day or to accompany you
throughout your travel in Ukraine. With accommodations you must allow at least @$150 per diem for
covering the cost of such a "private tour manager".
INTERPRETERS Most readily available in the English language. There are a few good ones that SCOPE
has worked with for over 25 years and can recommend. Make your reservations well in advance - to
assure the best, most satisfying results.
SECRETARIAL If you need good secretarial skills (the sort you are used to in the USA) please
bring your OWN secretary and laptop computer with you. Such services can be arranged - but it
will be more economical to pay for your secretary's plane ticket to Ukraine, than to hire a
skilled English-speaking, computer-literate person IN COUNTRY.
